Fave Friday - Products To Die For
November 13th, 2009 by World Wide EdGet it? To DIE for? Friday the 13th?
*waits a few seconds*
OK, so the correlation wasn't that obvious, but what the hey, let's have some fun (this beat is sick)!
So erry once in a while, this beautiful-gem-of-a-face (*barf*) gets a widdle flaw we like to call a pimple. Normally, I would just sit it out and wait 'til da buggah goes away. No problem.
Recently though, wifey introduced me to this gem-of-a-product (*no barf*) called On-the-Spot Acne Treatment from Neutrogena. Ever heard of/used it? At the first sign of a pimple (hummin') comin' atcha, you dab this stuff on it and poof, it disappears, mostly. Not too shabby if you ask me. They also have this one now called Rapid Clear, which is supposed to (I think) be newer/better.
Anybody else got any "to die for" products out there to share with the rest of us? It is Friday the 13th after all.
Happy VHO7V Friday! Have a great weekend and I'll see y'all next week!
P.S. If anyone wants 2 9th row tickets to tonight's UH Bball game, comment "Go Bows!" below and they're yours! I can't make it.
The only catch is that you gotta come getum from me cause I gotta work all day. 8) Shoots!

I could have used on-da-spot in my puberty mad pimple years, it was pretty bad and clearasil was the only product available. I don't think it helped, it basically made your face dry and looked really weird with these pink blotches all ovah your face.
Another product I could have used back-in-da-day is hair gel. We had Brilliantine pomade and cosmetic stick, which is a white waxy stick that you rubbed on, had a paper wrapper that you peeled away as you used it. Problem was da stuff is messy and greasy...you know, like that commercial with the fast food worker using the greasy hamburger to groom his hair. But it was the only way to get your wave or duck a$$ just right and looking good. Every time you combed you had to wipe off the excess globs...a mess.

Hi Ed,
I'm going to the game already. I have a new use (new to me) for an old prodcut that I used for sports injuries but I too disgusting to explain over the site.

I'm with rayboyjr ... I didn't realize it was Fri the 13th until ... now. Thanks Ed. I can't really think of anything except my back has been bothering me lately and I've been using this sports cream. It's a generic (made by CVS) similar to Icy Hot. What I like about it is that it doesn't have that same awful menthol smell. And, it comes in this squeeze tube and applicator so the stuff doesn't get all over your hands. Anyways, it's been helping.

Oh and I see from your Twitter feed that I should be wishing you a Happy Anniversary! Congrats!
November 13th, 2009 at 8:07 am
I'm gonna add "the Drops" to the list ... essential!

"oh .... happy anniversary, happy anniversary, happy anniversary ... HAPPPPY ANNIVERSARY!"
(sing it like Barney Rubble and the loyal order of water buffaloes did for Fred and Wilma).
Congrats Ed!

Bath and Body Works AB hand gel. comes in a 1 oz bottle, so easy to carry around. does a good job of covering/removing the smell of squid, shrimp or fish for when I go fishing, and, in this time of H1N1, a good thing to carry around just in case.
happy anniversary.
also, not catching a plane today, so I can't go to the game (and hemajang already claimed them), but Go Bows! anyway.

Eh Ed,
When you young kid, you get pimples.
When you get older, you get boils on your butt.
Enjoy your pimples.
Happy Anniversary

speaking of muscle pain relief, hobbs, i cant do without my biofreeze. its a gel based topical pain reliever that you can buy in a roll on container. no more getting it on your hands and then doing the inevitable touch your eyes and then having to wash the burn off your eyeballs. it works fast and is greaseless, stainless, and the scent vanishes quickly. its a little pricey and you can only buy it from massage/sports therapists and chiropractors. try um!
November 13th, 2009 at 10:47 am
oh and for you cvs/longs shoppers (i know, who isn't?), i dont know if this has been mentioned before but did you know that every since longs got bought by cvs, they have been honoring the cvs extra care customer awards card? you can sign up for one on the cvs website (look for extra care link) and it takes about a week to get to you. the card works kinda like the maika'i card or the kupa'a key-z (shameless plug!). you get 2% back on your purchases at longs every 3 months and a lot of times you get instant savings or coupons printed on your receipt. in fact, erry time i go, i get a coupon for $5 off my next $25 purchase! plus offers come via email too.
jus make sure you give the card to the clerk before paying, though. it seems their system doesn't allow swiping the card after the fact.

kay-den, how about some bomb potato chips dat don't cause pimples?!?!?
kay-den, check out PopChips Salt & Pepper... a client of ours in LA, a cute story and an awesome product.. ack-chally chips made by the same process and machinery as rice cakes.. no oil.. hence, no mo' rancid, stale chips, an' no mo' da kine facial blemishes.. (O, an' even Oprah likes dem..)
key-den, if you like PopChips, beware dis nex' product.. if you get chance to try Alexia Chips Cheddar Cheese flavah.. be very very careful.. dese are like criss-cut fries only potato chips.. real crispy, real crunchy, and real tasty..
Grab a handful and hide the bag from yo'self, uddahwise you in trouble..
dese Alexia chips are like wut i imagine crack cocaine to be like..
an' get dis, i'm not a potato chip person, as in not at all, but dese two products are broke da mout'.. seriously...
ack-chally, Alexia chips are mo' like evil.. take my word an' my warning.. some t'ings are jus' way too guud.. an' dis is a list of one..
da slogan should be, "Go Ahead, Make Your Day".. really..

November 13th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
Oh yeah, Frogskins making a comeback.
November 13th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
@soogs - thanks for the tip on biofreeze. I'll have to check it out. And, I'll have to get me one of those CVS cards! $5 off $25 huh? I spend $25 so easily there.
@UJ - yup, Alexia chips are ono! They were sampling them one day at Longs. I like the onion strips. In fact, Alexia chips were featured on Top Chef this season. The chefs had to use the chips to create their dishes - I think it was a quickfire challenge. Interesting ... when I googled Alexia, I noticed that the creator is also behind Terra chips ... another one I love. That one they sell at Costco in big bags, so dangerous!

eh mr ed, thanks again for the basketball tickets, great seats, I've never sat that close to the court in a men's basketball game. Women's basketball is another story, nobody there so sit anywhere you like. Anyway, got to see what our team will be like this season and it looks hopeful if and when Amis returns and da big Brazilian is eligible. Amis will definitely improve the half court flow and our centers now are serviceable but it sounds like Kurtz will be da man. I was impressed with the new guards, unlike Thomas who is not a scorer but can direct the offense, these guys can create their own shots and good spot up shooters anywhere on the court. My only complaint was the $5 parking but da wife tells me, "hey, no complain, tickets were free, shut up and park." I had a good time...thank you but I'm sure you had a better time with your first anniversary ...congratulations. I'm on my 36th so my advice is to shut up and listen to da wife.
I also got my cvs card this week...nevah use em yet will pretty soon to buy my favorite ointments and products, will try the Alexia chips and help out UJ's business. I also like Olay Complete Defense daily moisturizer spf 30. I should have been more skin care conscious in my younger years...I'm basically a dried up prune now.
November 14th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
Scott,
wassup homie!!
November 14th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
I know, what can I say... Oh, you said "guys"!
Can't relate McCat, but I hear it's a necessity for women.
Actually somebody recently told me I should use some on my dry as desert skin. LOL!
Yeah, wifey be cool like dat.
Yeah, I seen dat too. Funny how tings come full circle yeah?
Dayem! I gotta git me some!
Ahhh, kewl. Must be nice and nippy right about now eh matty? Lucky!
LOLOL! Almost neighbors den eh Scotty2Hotty? Sweet though! I love it there!
Yeah! I complained about that $5 parking too. Why did they jack it up to almost double! Crazy! Glad you had a good time though hemmz! And your wifey sounds like a riot!
Actually though, anniversary is this week. Mahaloz!
