November 4th, 2009 by World Wide EdFirst off, I'd like to send mad props to bruddah hemajang who was responsible for last week's WIH stumping photo that garnered 70 comments. Yeah E YEAH! Second, mad respect to bruddah MakiSushi for becoming just the 5th person in WIH history to win back-to-back kine action (especially impressive as these were his first wins ever) after guessing Sam & Syd's Cafe. Can he become the first to capture that elusive turkey this week?
This week's photo comes to us courtesy of the beautiful island of Maui. I did some shmall kine "Photoshop-ping" to the sign (see below) so it's not so obvious, but I'm pretty sure one of y'all will get it anyway. To make things a lil' more interesting between guesses (and to boost the comment count of course!

Is that one kiawe or ironwood tree? ...how about ironwoods beach north of kaanapali? Maybe 9 years ago when son ran states cross country on this golf course in Maui was last time I went there. Most memorable was many years ago when I was in my hippy 20's camping with friends at this beach on the way to Hana, beautiful scenery and lava tube? coves to explore. Is this the cove where get plenty shrimp or something that will make the water look red?

Big Beach and Little Beach are good guesses. Are those the n*dist beaches on Maui? Went fishing and camping there years ago.

One time I had to go to Maui for work, and I needed a place to stay a couple days. Just so happened, this doctor working with us had a house on Maui. She's like, "yeah, you guys should stay at my place." She gives us directions to her house and says, "the doors aren't locked so go on in."
So we get to her house in Maui, and it's huge, located in this nice subdivision toward Paia. The neighbor waves and says, "Dr. so and so said to expect guests this week." So we're like cool. And it's like this huge, nice place all to ourselves and it's never locked. What a trip! Anyway, I just tripped at how everyone in the neighborhood was so cool. Maui locals ... No ka 'oi, for shua!

ahhhh Maui, my favorite island... that I haven't visited in yeeeeears... sigh...guri-guri.... that mini mart kinda place with the ono hot dogs, and I miss Shishido Manju's mochi, the peanut butter was soooo gooood!

i dunno where that is but i love maui!! my favorite... gotta be tasaka guri guri! yummmmmy! we like to stay in kaanapali but last time we stayed in kihei, which is closer to the golf courses in wailea and makena! but, my favorite golf course in the one in kapalua. so hard but even if you play junk, the scenery is fantastic!
(no, i'm not talking about the "scenery" on some of the beaches previously mentioned! ha ha!)

In my younger days I had to work at some condos in Kihei and Wailea. The company made us stay at the Maui Palms (I think in Kahului) and drive in every morning. Either the Maui Palms or Maui Sands had a good Japanese buffet.
