Colbie Caillat and Justin Young at Diversity Harmony Peace Event
May 28th, 2008 by World Wide EdYesterday afternoon, local boy Justin Young joined platinum recording artist (and part-time Kauai resident) Colbie Caillat (”Bubbly,” “Realize,” “Magic”) on stage for the Diversity Harmony Peace event put on by the Na Lei Aloha Foundation at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel Hawaii Ballroom. It was a star-studded event that also included local artists Keola Beamer, Raiatea Helm, Amy Hanaialii, and more, and was a follow up to the previous day’s 10th Annual Lantern Floating event at Ala Moana Beach. Below are a few snaps from the event. Mahalo to Blaine Fergerstrom for permission!

Talk to me:
Do you love Colbie Caillat too? What’s your favorite song of hers? Shouldn’t a big record label give Justin Young a shot already!?

awww man…I’m so bummed I missed this one….I love Colbie Caillat’s music. My fave song from her album is definitely “Magic.” For me, its usually the songs lyrics that catches me….this song definitely has great lyrics.
I seen Colbie and Justin performing on some talk show the other nite….they work well together. And a cousin of mine even had Justin perform at her wedding a few years back…he really is a great musician.

Hey, LOVE Colbie. Love that “Bubbly” tune. Man, the radio stations should play THAT song as much as that incessant “Keep bleeding, KEEEEEEEEP, KEEEEEEP bleedin’” tune, which gives me a headache already. But, IS a great song, actually. It’s just played too damn much.
Mr. Sugimoto . . . just so I have an entry for the Zohan film . . . can I mention, because I overheard the name (someone talking on their cell phone whilst C.G. was getting in to work today) . . . “Licky.” That’s right. I heard “Licky.” “Licky! Pick up!” That’s my entry for the contest. Licky. Man. What a name to have.
Indy missed a lot of things in it. Not the same Indy as before. Just campy. There was SO much more, so much more different things they could’ve done. Sad. Junk. “Iron Man” still rules as the summer film for this year, though, I think’ll be out of my running when “The Dark Knight” comes out; that film looks neat-o. The film I’m anticipating this year is the DeNiro, Pacino film, “Righteous Kill” — don’t have a contest for that one, just give me the tickets, bwwwwwaaaaaah.

I love ALL her songs but I guess if I had to choose… Magic, Realize & Bubbly are my 3 favorites… but I really like her entire cd. And yes, Justin is super good too… he should get a big record deal eventually… hopefully!

* Miss Pris: Yeah, Magic is awesome. I’m hoping that the extra attention Justin is getting playing with Colbie will eventually lead to a record deal. He deserves it!
* Chicken Grease: That would be last year’s American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. LOL! But yeah, I’d rather hear Colbie than Jordin any day! Colbie ROCKS!
* mcat: I hope so! Justin is a supah cool cat! And yeah, Magic is my favorite too!

I went to see Justin play @ Anna Banannas Tuesday night, He is amazing!!
I actually had gone there hoping Colbie Caillat would sing a song or 2. To my surprise she sang 1. The crowd cheered for her and demanded an encore. She let us all down. Thou it was Justin show, he is NOW one of my favorite singers replacing Colbie.
I also have to mention she does not share an ALOHA SPIRIT.
Her marketing manger should of scheduled a show in Hawaii!!

* Over Her: I heard about that event too, but unfortunately had plans.
That must’ve been fun though. But yeah, Justin is awesome and I hope that Colbie comes back to town for a regular concert…
